Musicians Company Evensong

1st October 2025

St Paul's Cathedral

The Masters, Prime Wardens, Wardens and Clerks of Livery Companies joined the Worshipful Company of Musicians in their annual service to give thanks for the gifts of music, creativity and performance. A magnificent event, with the full St Pauls Choir we sat under the dome as the music reverberated around us.

The highlight for me was the performance of Elergy for Strings composed for the Musicians Company by Honorary Freeman Edward Elgar. After the reading of the list of members of the Company who passed away during the year the Royal College of Music String Orchestra performed the piece.

We robed in the Crypt of St Pauls, a facinating place and after disrobing were able to enjoy a glas of wine with our fellows.
