Childrens Magical Taxi Tour to Euro Disney
12th September 2025Organised by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers
As requested, Maggie and I arrived at Canary Wharf at 0530 despite the lack of DLR or Underground and a busy evening with the Past Masters...A long line of taxis, displaying their sponsors on the doors, was drawn up outside the venue, where a military band played and breakfast was served to excited children, parents, taxi drivers, UK and French police motorcycle escorts, medical staff, Volunteers, and support personnel. It was a massive undertaking skillfully done.
We breakfasted on a table with other sponsor Masters and Consorts, and after the Sheriff David Chalk raised a great cheer for the off! we went outside to meet the driver of our taxi and the children he was taking. So many of these children have survived massive trauma; this trip is so important to their recovery and well-being.
