Judges Portraits display

26th November 2024

Painters Hall

The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers held a one night exhibition of Old Bailey Judges portraits at Painters Hall. Painted by portrait artist Jane Masojada during her time as Sheriff Bronek Masojada's consort 2023-2024, Carolyn had unfortunately missed the unveiling of the portraits at the Old Bailey earlier in the year, so was very pleased to be able to go to the reception held at the Painters Hall.

Joined by some other Livery Masters and their consorts, some of the judges were also there to prove how well they matched their portraits. Interestingly, the Judges bench is now evenly split between men and women, and we had some interesting discussions about how the split between men and women has shifted over recent years.

The portraits have all been purchased by their subjects, raising additional funds for the Sheriffs and Recorder's Fund.
