Supporters Evening

30th October 2024

Guildhall School of Music and Drama

Chairman of the Benevolent Fund Jon Fell, Carolyn and I attended a most enjoyable Supporters Club evening at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Besides meeting the Principal, Jonathan Vaughan and other staff and supporters, we spent much of the evening getting to know our four Tobacco Pipe Maker Music Scholars.

This year these are (from left to right in the picture):

Theo Bently Curtin - Cellist (second year)

Eryna Kisumba - Cellist (second year)

Julia Solomon - Mezzo-Soprano (first year)

Ollie Plant - Tenor Trombone (second year)

They are a delightful group of very talented students, who not only study at the Guildhall School of Music, but do outside work to help fund themselves and get additional experience.

Julia will also sing at our January dinner

It is a great pleasure to be able to understand how much difference our support makes to the career prospects of young people who have such get up and go!
