Autumn Court and Dinner

19th September 2024

Bakers Hall

This year we had our Autumn Court and Dinner at Bakers' Hall, in Harp Lane, a venue we have not used in recent memory.

Although relatively new, it is a fine building, being the fourth that the Bakers have had on this site since 1505, the previous three being destroyed by fire.

It worked very well for us, with the Court meeting taking place downstairs, and running to time, which was very pleasing.

We gowned two new Liverymen, Sam Bondarenko and Richard Gray, who joined us for drinks and dinner after the Court.

We had a lovely meal of sea trout, beef and poached fruit in the main dining hall, joined by guests Les Chapman, the Master of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, (for the second time!) and Ted Manning, the Master of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames.

It was not a late evening as some of us had to be up early for the Magical Taxi Tour send off at 5.30 in the morning, but it was a most enjoyable event for everybody!
