Sheriffs' Finale and Judge's Portrait Unveiling

18th September 2024

Old Bailey

The outgoing sheriffs, Bronek Masojada and Dame Susan Langley, with consorts Jane and Gary, held a final reception at the Old Bailey before leaving their posts at the end of this month to thank everybody for their support over the year.

The centrepiece of the evening was the unveiling of 16 portraits of Old Bailey senior judges and Law officers, done by Jane Masojada during her year as Sheriff's consort. Jane is a well-known portrait artist in her own right, but chose to paint these pictures as part of the Sheriff's charity fund raising efforts. How she found the time to do them is anybody's guess!

Some of the subjects of the portraits were also there, and proved that the pictures were excellent representations of the sitters!

Many friends of the Sheriffs were there, including a large number of Livery Masters and Consorts, not to mention the odd Past Master!
