Irish Guards Association (London Branch) Annual Dinner

Irish Guards Association (London Branch) Annual Dinner

25th November 2023

Union Jack Club

William and I were delighted to receive an invitation to dine at the Union Jack Club with the Irish Guards Association (London Branch). It was great to see Major Niall Hall and Major Robbie Wilmont not to mention Ron Kirkland. We started in the famous Union Jack bar and then I processed in with Colonel Ben Farrell, Chairman of the London Branch, who will attend our January Dinner at Drapers’ Hall. It was a fascinating evening where I was privileged to experience the behind the scenes discussions of adventures past and present by current serving officers and ones who have ventured into civilian careers. It was a privilege to be part of this special evening, albeit a sobering one when one of the officers shared the names of those members who had passed this past year. It was a reminder of the risks these brave men and women take every day as well as those who like our beloved Alan Beggs pass due to illness. The evening finished with a comprehensive report of the past year’s activities, illustrating the Irish Guards’ service and dedication to preserving peace around the world.
