    Paviors’ Autumn Livery Dinner

Paviors’ Autumn Livery Dinner

23rd November 2023

Merchant Taylors’ Hall

It was a distinct honour to receive an invitation from Master Pavior to attend
Paviors’ Autumn Livery Dinner at Merchant Taylors’ Hall. Master John May and his Consort, Lizette have been incredible friends to my Consorts and I as we have navigated our year - especially in Glasgow!! It was a fabulous evening and my first opportunity to meet our new Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Manelli, who delivered her first official speech at a Livery Dinner. I believe the amazing Lizette and the Lord Mayor had something to do with this wonderful first! The splendid evening in Merchant Taylors’ Hall was made even more so as John’s Grandson played the organ for us. Merchant Taylors’ Hall is architecturally known for being the only Livery Hall with an organ and to be surrounded by the gorgeous melodious music was spectacular. I watched John watching his Grandson and his look of pride was palatable. John’s heartfelt speech was the perfect way to end a wonderful evening, which I was pleased to share with Master Pattenmaker and Master Girdler amongst others. The stirrup cup afforded us all an opportunity to thank the fabulous Master Pavior for an unforgettable experience.
