    Lunch with Roger Southam

Lunch with Roger Southam

6th November 2023

It is always special to have an opportunity to meet Liverymen who travel to functions from overseas. Lunch at ‘The Ned’ immediately before our Annual Banquet was particularly special as Liveryman Roger Southam brought with him his special guest, Scott Haugh of the ‘Cayman Cigar Company’. Scott has created a Cigar Company dedicated to creating job opportunities for members of his community. In fact from the moment you open his website, their Mission is clear:
“We believe in the art of handcrafting premium cigars and giving back to our communities. Our company operates in a spirit of social-entrepreneurship, with 100% of all net profits generated from cigar sales benefiting local and international communities. Scott is passionate about their cigars, which are made using the highest-quality Caribbean tobacco and hand-rolled by Cuban native Master Cigar Rollers. At the heart of every cigar is the Cayman Islands spirit of innovation, positivity, and co-operation. Roger is equally passionate about Scott’s finished product and at our Autumn Court, the Court was fortunate to receive some samples to try. Roger is working with Scott to bring these unique cigars to the UK both as an opportunity to share the Cayman Islands creativity and to expand the opportunities for more philanthropic endeavours. Their enthusiasm was infectious and it was great to have an opportunity to share some connections. Networking and engagement is an exciting part of Livery Membership. Our Company is open, diverse and welcoming. This spirit of warmth and acceptance often transcends into friendships, partnerships and collaborations, all of which enhances our Livery Community, the City of London and sometimes the World at large.
