    Winter Ball

Winter Ball

3rd November 2023

Landsdowne Club

Snow glorious snow!!! Winter Wonderland may officially reside in Hyde Park during November and December; but, for one magical evening, the Lansdowne was transformed into the most spectacular backdrop of snow and ice. As my fellow Liverymen, their guests and I travelled back in time to meet characters out of books from the Stuart time period, we had an opportunity to imbibe at the gin bar made of ice along with champagne that literally flowed. Past Master of the Guild of Investment Managers, Melissa Kimball hosted our fairy tale Christmas group, where the highlight for me was a huge ball of snow!!! We glided from room to room enjoying the sights and sounds of holiday spirit before an extraordinary feast appeared in the mystical Christmas forest. The attention to detail was palpable! Melissa and I took part in the festive tombola and her ticket turned into a special prize! After dinner, music and laughter bellowed through the rooms as the band played and the dancing began. The Landsdowne Ball was the perfect start to the holiday season!
