Guildhall Symphony Orchestra & Chorus

29th September 2023

The Fountain Room, Barbican and then the Barbican Hall

What a spectacular evening of music!!! The first piece was composed by a student from Australia who put her vision of her favourite place to music. This special spot was rocky and had difficult places to climb. When I closed my eyes and listened to the piece, I saw Africa and a safari park, full of baobab trees and termite mounds. I sat near the musical director and I shared my vision during the intermission. He promised to tell the composer. Whether it is the continent of Australia or Africa, is irrelevant. What is important is that you hear the music and its calling and it is just as enveloping regardless.
