Livery Committee Reception

8th June 2023

Grocers’ Hall

How exciting to wear my badge representing the company as Master at a non company event the day after my Installation! The Livery Committee held a special reception for Masters at Grocer’s Hall. Fortunately as the newest Master of the group, I immediately spotted Past Master Fiona Adler, who currently serves as the Secondary of the City of London.

The old adage: there is seven degrees of separation between everyone we meet and know came into play as my friend, Andrew Trapnell began his year as Master Fletcher, the 39th Livery Company, on April 19th. His wife Melanie and I became friends while our boys were at Eagle House School together. Andrew is already a well known member amongst our fellow Masters and very kindly guided me through the room introducing me to many who Will and I will meet in Glasgow this coming weekend at the Master’s Weekend away.

We also had an opportunity to meet the candidates for Sheriffs who will stand for election at Common Hall on June 26th.

My thanks to The Livery Committee for hosting such a timely event and to Grocers’ Hall for their hospitality.
