Installation Court

7th June 2023

Vintners' Hall

My final Master’s responsibility – chairing the Installation Court in the wonderful Court Room at Vintners’ Hall. We covered a number of positive agenda items, voted on 2 new applicants (successfully!), admitted as Freemen Marie Polet (on a day trip from Belgium!) and Ryan Selby (all the way from Canada), gowned Mike de la Fargue (a close friend from SA) and Nikesh Madhvani (Ugandan) as Liverymen and installed as an Honorary Freeman the Mistress, Sharon Taberer! Testament to a truly diverse membership we boast with a strong pipeline!
It was a pleasure to present to the Company a wonderful banner made by The Sewing Rooms, a social enterprise that trades to tackle social problems.
Following the Court meeting, it gave me much pleasure to install Elise Rasmussen as our new Master. Elise, along with her two Consorts (Courtney and William – daughter and son) will relish this lifetime opportunity as ambassadors for the Company and with the capable support of her wonderful Wardens, now joined by Mallory Factor. I was the grateful recipient of the Past Master's Badge and Alfred Dunhill Shell Briar Pipe - a piece of workmanship!
Time to reflect on a hugely enjoyable year and give thanks for being given the opportunity – now to find the map to the golf course!
