Smoking Club Monday

22nd May 2023

The Caledonian Club

Some 30 odd members and guests enjoyed a lovely summer’s evening in the gardens of The Caledonian Club for the Smoking Club – very well organised by Stephan von Schilling and the Membership Committee – thank you!

Vivi Eiroa, a recent Freeman of the Company, treated us to one on the nicest cigars I have ever had – produced by her family in Honduras – the Aladino Classic sporting a rustic Habano seed wrapper placed over a Corojo binder and a Habano seed filler. All of the tobaccos for the Classic were grown at the JRE tobacco farms in Jamastran, Honduras and are handmade at the Fabrica de Puros Aladino S.A. factory in Honduras.

It’s best described as a medium-strength and flavourful smoking indulgence!

To pair with this, the Caledonian club selected two drams of whisky from their collection – a Glen Moray and Crabbie which they served alongside traditional haggis and nibbles.

It was a pleasure to meet many member’s guests expressing an interest to join the Company.
