The Cutlers Works Visit Saturday

20th May 2023

Rotherham

The Master Cutler is a Director of AESSEAL – a company that operates from 235 locations in 104 countries, including 9 manufacturing locations and headquartered in Rotherham, a short distance from Sheffield – providing seals to all industries.

About 50 of us joined her on a works visit to their H/Q and global technical centre.

Their focus is on automated productivity (robotic), skills development through an aggressive apprenticeship scheme, and operating in an ethical and sustainable manner which reduces energy and water consumption.

We toured their existing manufacturing site and the adjacent new site, 2 months from completion – a site that has as its principal stakeholder the planet (!) with huge emphasis on net zero emissions, energy savings, water preservation and nature – leading the way to a cleaner environment which will always benefit their commercial endeavours.

Hugely educational and great to see first hand such progression by local industry – the world needs to follow suit if we are to save the planet.

An informal lunch followed back at Cutlers’ Hall before we headed back south down the M1!
