No 15 (Loos) Co - St. Patrick's Day Parade

19th March 2023

H/Q Flodden Rd, Camberwell

Today saw the No 15 (Loos) Company, London Guards, enjoy their St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the H/Q in Camberwell, London commencing at 11am

We enjoy an affiliation with them.

On parade were Reservists from the Company (London Irish), Association (LI), Cadets (Irish Guards) and musicians Pipes and Drums (LI).

I was graciously looked after by Warrant Officer Saxton.

Commanding Officer Major Oliver Bambrick welcomed their Hon Colonel Brigadier J.P. Mooney (Chief of Staff) to inspect the divisions. Brig. Mooney retires as Hon Col this year, and he thanked the reservists for their tremendous duty and commitment.

The traditional sprigs of shamrock were presented by me, the Master Founders (Robin Holmes) and Major Bambrick’s mother.

Awards were presented to 6 recipients – and I was asked to present the “Frederick Tranter Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders’’ trophy to the outstanding performer across all ranks – Clr Sargent Alan Roberts being the deserving recipient.

Following the parade and before socially gathering in the mess a few of us popped into their museum for an interesting ‘quick’ tour and handling, with utmost delicacy, the famous Loos football!

We are privileged to have an affiliation with this professional and passionate Company.

They too value the relationship.
