Franklin Lecture

Thursday 9th February 2023

Egyptian Hall, Mansion House

Mansion House’s Egyptian Hall enjoyed a full house for The Worshipful Co of Educators’ annual Franklin Lecture – named after their late Foundation Master Prof. Franklin – the Co being founded in 2001.

Sponsored by TIRO, we had the enormous pleasure in having Alderman Prof Michael Mainelli as the distinguished speaker – the topic “Teacher, Tutor, Scholar, I”

He gave a thought-provoking talk to The Lord Mayor, Sheriff Andrew Marsden, Masters, Liverymen and others.

The likes of AI and ChatGBT are rapidly developing – there’s a need for ongoing systems innovation; a need to teach what is applicable and not waste time on what’s not; speed to get there and variation and adaption! We must not fear change – we must teach it!

Special thanks to Master Educator, Caroline Haines, for hosting a stimulating evening.
