Carol Service - held by The Worshipful Company of Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders

6th December 2022

Church of St James Garlickhythe

Our annual Carol Service was absolutely fabulous and took place at St James Garlickhythe, close to Mansion House Station.

Thanks to Past Master Mark Gower-Smith for designing the Order of Service and to our Hon Chaplain David Parrott for leading it.

The setting was a Christopher Wren Church, filled to capacity, supported by the Sevenoaks School Choir and their 30 choristers, conducted by their Director of Music Chris Dyer, and the organist Ben Markovic (Senior Organ Scholar at Queen’s College, Cambridge).

The choir and organist performed outstandingly; the congregation raised their voices to the hymns, and the Church acoustics allowed for a joyous Christmas Carol Service!

The present collection for the many children in need was full and has been delivered to the charity Growbaby UK for distribution – with sincere thanks and appreciation.

The Mistress assembled goodie bags for all to enjoy!

An after-service drinks and bites gathering was held a short walk away at The Little Ship Club in their library – it turned out to be the perfect venue with a lovely food platter and the chance to meet with several of our Charity representatives, friends and members!
