Fan Makers Selection Court Dinner

20th October 2022

Saddlers' Hall

The Fan Makers held their Selection Court Dinner at Saddlers’ Hall (their new base) – and I was honoured to receive an invitation along with a few others on their ‘circuit’.

Seven members were admitted / gowned and The Master Fan Maker, Jonathan Bewes, had the headmaster of Stowe School, Dr. Anthony Wallersteiner, as his principal guest.

Anthony delivered a fine speech centred around education and the theme to fully engage in all areas of school life – it’s no surprise they hold the 2022 Tatler Best Public School’s Award. He’d also dug out some amusing old school reports of The Master’s time at Stowe as a pupil!

The Fan Makers’ Clerk, Martin Davies, received deserved recognition after 13 years of service as he retires at the end of the year. He too gave a lovely speech.

A wonderful relaxed evening, amongst friendly Fan Makers at a fine Hall!
