The Furniture Makers’ Company organise the afternoon exhibition ‘The Young Furniture Makers’ allowing chosen talent from GCSE students to recent graduates to showcase their pieces.
The awards recognise excellence and the future in design.
There were around 100 exhibits – tables, chairs, cabinets, stools, desks – a wide range of products spread between the F M Hall and the neighbouring Dutch Church. I was overwhelmed by the quality of product on display and the innovation - such as top quality stacking stools made from old wooden bed legs!
A great example of the Livery supporting its trade and heritage, and to view the talent and passion that this craft has!
