The Honourable Company of Master Mariners Court Livery Luncheon – HQS Wellington
2nd March 2022It is always a treat to be on board HQS Wellington, and I was therefore delighted to have been invited by the Master Mariner, Commander Les Chapman, to attend their annual Court Livery Luncheon. The invitation had been extended to the Masters and Clerks of many other Companies, and it was lovely to spend an enjoyable afternoon in their company. The Principal Guest was Jon Ryder, Principal of George Green’s School in Tower Hamlets, who spoke of the challenges of running a school in one of the most deprived areas of the country, the positive outcomes that they have been able to achieve, and the support that they receive from various Livery Companies – the Shipwrights and Master Mariners amongst others.
