Lord Mayor's Show
13th November 2021It is a truth self-evident that it always pours with rain on the day of the Lord Mayor’s show, but this year the Senior Warden, Immediate Past Master and I thankfully stayed dry throughout. We paraded from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice and back again alongside many other representatives of the Modern Livery Companies (with a stop off to be fed and “watered” on HQS Wellington, and our traditional team photo outside Globe House). It was a highly enjoyable (if slightly tiring) day with the streets of London lined, not with gold, but with many hundreds of supporters, including a large pack of cub scouts who had, unfortunately, each been given a very loud whistle to blow! We three made it through, however, fuelled by pipes, cigars and snuff.
